One Sock, One Statement: Because Quality of Life Shouldn’t Be a Luxury After Breast Cancer

At Portt, we believe in creating products with purpose, and our Quality of Life Matters sock is no exception. Designed in collaboration with Well Beyond Breast Cancer (WBBC), this special edition sock supports a powerful mission: improving the lives of those impacted by breast cancer.

Behind each pair is a powerful purpose: 15% of proceeds support WBBC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rewriting the story of survivorship by focusing on one of the most overlooked aspects of breast cancer care: recovery and rehabilitation.

The Untold Side of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer and its treatments including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormonal therapy can leave many individuals with lasting physical and emotional side effects. Fatigue, pain, swelling, lymphedema, limited mobility, and cognitive changes are just some of the challenges survivors face every day.

But while these effects are widespread, they don’t have to be permanent, and they should never be endured without support.

That’s where Breast Cancer Rehabilitation comes in, a specialized field of physical and occupational therapy that helps survivors reclaim their strength, function, confidence, and quality of life. It’s proven, it’s powerful… and yet only 1–2% of the cancer community ever receives this type of care.

Why? Because recovery still has a price tag.

Most survivors aren’t told this specialized care exists. And for those who do know, the cost, lack of insurance coverage, or limited access often keeps it out of reach.

Breaking Down Barriers to Care

WBBC was founded to change that. They are one of the first 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the country solely focused on ensuring that anyone who needs rehabilitation and lymphedema therapy after breast cancer can get it, no matter their income, insurance, or background

Their Financial Assistance Program fully covers the cost of physical/occupational therapy appointments for those in need, ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of recovery.

Through their Educational Workshops led by oncology rehab experts, WBBC also empowers patients and caregivers with essential, evidence-based information about managing treatment-related side effects and navigating recovery.

100% Volunteer-Led, 100% Impact.

WBBC isn’t a large organization, but its impact is mighty. Run entirely by volunteers, every dollar donated goes straight to their programs for the breast cancer community. Each contribution funds therapy appointments, educational workshops, and outreach, making sure no one has to face recovery alone.

Their vision? A world where no one is denied the cancer care they need, regardless of race, age, education, or income. A world where everyone can live well beyond breast cancer.

At WBBC, one truth drives everything they do: quality of life matters. And with each purchase of our collaborative sock, you’re helping bring that vision to life.
