Back at Camp Breastie: Old Friends, New Faces, and Giving Back

There’s something really special about returning to a place that feels like home—even if it’s a home made of cabins, bug spray, and more heart than you thought could fit in one weekend. This was my second time at Camp Breastie, and somehow it was even more impactful than the first.

Camp Breastie Table

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with hugs from familiar faces and welcomed by so many new ones. There’s an energy at Camp Breastie that’s hard to put into words: it's electric, it’s safe, it’s joyful, and it’s deeply real. Being surrounded by a community of people who get it—who have walked similar paths and continue to show up with grace, grit, and humor—is something I’ll never take for granted.

One of the highlights of this year was having the honor of speaking on a panel about navigating career decisions after a cancer diagnosis. The conversation was honest and layered—we talked about burnout, reinvention, grief, creativity, and the courage it takes to pivot when life doesn’t go as planned. I left the panel so inspired by the vulnerability in the room and reminded (again) that we’re not meant to figure any of this out alone.

Camp Breasties with the Well Beyond Breast Cancer Team

This year also marked an especially meaningful milestone: the opportunity to give back. Through Portt, I was able to donate a portion of sales to four incredible organizations doing vital work in the cancer community:

  • The Breasties – 20% of all Camp Breastie sales went directly to the organization that makes this life-changing weekend possible.
  • Thriving Beyond Breast Cancer, Well Beyond Breast Cancer, and Lion-ess Retreats – Each received a portion of proceeds from select co-branded or purpose-driven items. Supporting their missions felt like the most natural extension of the weekend’s spirit: uplifting, empowering, and community-rooted.

Camp Breastie continues to be a reminder of why Portt exists in the first place. It’s about connection, dignity, self-expression, and the kind of support that lasts far beyond the last campfire.

Thank you to every single person who stopped by the Portt booth, shared your story, or just came by for a hug. Until next time 💖
